CALL TO LIGHT : Presence
“At first, I don’t look at the person but feel them, what I’m trying to establish is a space of resonance with my subject.”
Call To Light by Linda Bujoli explores portraiture as if it were a photographic performance. Subjects are invited by appointment to the artist’s travelling studio–a device that varies according to its location and respects an immersive and interactive principle–an art gallery, an apartment, a warehouse, and a train car here turn into an echo chamber for the model’s confession. In this intimate face-to-face between the photographer and her subject Call To Light project in fact acquires an anthropological dimension. It is part of a fresco of faces constituting a collective portrait. Imaged through the prism of light, these portraits reveal the invisible but sensitive links that unite one-to-another.
